7-Card Stud High

Object of the Game
Obtain the highest ranking hand to win the pot. Each player will be dealt 7 cards. You may only use 5 of the 7 cards for your poker hand.

The Play
The stud games at Bay101 are a fixed limit, which means a player must bet a set amount (see example). All players ante (normally $1 each) before the starting hand is dealt. Each player is dealt two down cards (hole cards) and one card up. The low card determined by suit (Clubs, Diamonds Hearts, Spades) begins the action on the first betting round with a forced bet. On all subsequent betting rounds the high hand checks or bets first. All active players receive 3 more up cards and a final card face down, with a betting round after each card. At the completion of each hand, all active players will have 7 cards. They may use any combination of 5 cards to make their best poker hand.

Example
$4 and $8 limit. The lower limit is initially used and the higher limit is wagered after the Fifth card, or optional, if there is a pair on Fourth Street.

Exceptions
The opening forced bet or player going all-in.

A bet and 3 raises are allowed.

Check and raise is permitted.

7-Card Low (Razz)

Object of the Game
Razz is 7-Card Stud played where the lowest hand wins the pot.

The Play
Aces are low; straights and flushes do not count against the low card value of a hand. The best possible hand is 5-4-3-2-Ace. The Ace is considered low so the King is the highest card in the deck. Suits are ranked only to determine which hand starts the action, from highest to lowest - Spades, Hearts, Diamonds, Clubs. The high card is required to make the forced bet on the first round and the low hand acts first on all subsequent rounds.

In fixed-limit games, the lower limit is used on Third and Fourth Street (an open pair does not affect the limit on Fourth Street). On Fifth Street and thereafter, the higher limit is used.

A bet and 3 raises are allowed.

Check and raise is permitted.

7-Card Stud High/Low Split

Object of the Game
A qualifier of 8 or better for low will be used for all High-Low Split games. If no player qualifies for Low, the High Hand wins the entire pot. A player may use any 5 cards to make their best High Hand, and any other grouping of 5 cards, whether it's the same as their High Hand or not, to make their best Low Hand.

The Play
The low card by suit (Clubs, Diamonds, Hearts and Spades) initiates the first forced bet. Ace counts as High Card on the first betting round. On all other betting rounds the High Hand initiates the action. The Lower Limit will be used through Fourth Street. An open pair does not affect the betting limit. On Fifth Street the higher limit goes into effect.

Aces may be used for high and low.

Straights and flushes do not impair the value of a hand for low.

A bet and 3 raises are allowed.

Check and raise is permitted.

Bay 101 provides house dealers for all games, but does not participate in the actual play of the game and has no interest in the outcome of play. No player ever plays against or makes a wager against Bay 101.
