San Jose's Premier Card Club Has a Rich History. Sutter’s Club was founded in 1929 by Joseph Sutter, Sr. It was originally located at Old Alviso Road and Highway 237 in Alviso, California. Through those early years, the Club was a very popular entertainment spot in the South Bay Area. When Mr. Sutter passed away in 1947, Joseph Sutter, Jr. took over the business. In 1961, Joseph Jr. added five poker tables and gaming was forever changed in San Jose.

When the State began widening Highway 237 in 1992, the Alviso location closed and a new site was selected on Bering Drive, just off East Brokaw Road at Highway 101. Bay 101 Casino opened in September of 1994, and quickly earned recognition throughout the gaming community as one of the finest clubs on the West Coast. Bay 101 Casino is renowned for hosting the Shooting Star Tournament, one of only 2 Northern California stops on the World Poker Tour. The 72,000-square-foot facility featured 49 gaming tables, a sports bar and restaurant, a deli, and a beauty salon. Spacious, well-lit and staffed with pleasant, helpful folks, and became San Jose’s Place to Play!

Bay 101 opened it's doors on a New location in September 2017. Today we are open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. A bit more intimate at 68,000 square-feet. However, we still offer the same great customer service patron's have come to expect from our extraordinary staff. We will maintain our 49 tables of varying games, as well as our world renowned Tournament play! With a NEW look and updated amenities we're sure to remain Silicon Valley's Place to Play!
