Sutter’s Club was founded in
1929 by Joseph Sutter, Sr. at Old Aviso Road and Highway 237 in Alviso,
California. Through those early years the Club was a very popular entertainment spot
in the South Bay Area. When Mr. Sutter died in 1947, Joseph Sutter,
Jr. took over the business and added 5 poker tables in 1961.
When the State of California began widening Highway 237 in 1992, the Alviso location closed and a new site
was selected on Bering Drive, just off East Brokaw Road at U. S. Highway
101. Bay 101 opened in September of
1994, and quickly earned recognition throughout the gaming community as one of
the finest clubs on the west coast.
Today Bay 101 is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The 72,000 square foot facility features 40 gaming tables, a sports bar
and restaurant, a deli and beauty salon. Spacious, well lighted, and staffed with pleasant, helpful folks, Bay
101 is San Jose’s (and Silicon Valley’s) Place to Play.
